Workshop for April 30-May3, 2024
I’m excited to announce a new, on-site workshop for April 30-May3 here in sunny Los Osos, California. After a great workshop in 2023 we will once again be painting on-site with personal instruction. The classes will be organized the same as in my past workshops. Classes will be four consecutive afternoons, painting on-site in four different locations in the Morro Bay/ Los Osos area. We will meet at my home/studio for an introductory meet and greet and a complimentary lunch at noon on the 30th. Then, each day, we will meet on-site at a designated location. Subjects will be selected for variety, with possible sites being the coast, mountains, boats, and houses. Each day I will paint a demonstration painting, explaining my technique and showing you, step by step, my process. Then each student will do their own painting and I will coach and guide each student with personal attention. The cost will be the same as in past years, $390 for all four days (supplies not included). A supply list as well as recommendations for accommodations will be sent to you upon signing up. Please let me know of your interest to reserve a spot. A $50 deposit will hold your place. Call 805 528 1498 or email me through the contact on this website.
Workshops for 2022
I don’t have any in-person workshops scheduled at this time. However, my online classes remain available, and I think they are definitely worth your while.
Also, my schedule is flexible and a workshop can be scheduled easily at almost any time. My workshops usually are formatted around four consecutive afternoons painting on-site around Los Osos and Morro Bay, CA. If you or your friends are interested in a workshop, let me know, and I will see if we can agree on dates. Give me a nudge and I will try to accommodate you.
Sorry! It looks like I can't schedule any workshops until this darn Covid 19 goes away! Be well. I'll let you know when we can get together.
One Student's Experience
Here is a comment by participant Laurel Sherrie, an outstanding painter in her own right:
"I thoroughly enjoyed Ken's 4-day workshop. I loved the schedule, starting after lunch. On location, he started with a painting demo and then we'd all go paint. Then we'd take a break for him to continue on the demo, and go back to our own paintings. This was a great combination of watching & doing, watching & doing. Ken's laid-back method of instructing and anecdotes was wonderful.
Experiencing Ken's style has opened doors for me to paint larger and bolder. I'm working on getting faster too. I don't know if he is aware of this, but he removed some of the "must do's and can't do's" that I've learned along the way, which is another freeing aspect for me with my painting. I look forward to doing more with him."
